China
The University of Ottawa takes great pride in its diverse and long-standing relationships with researchers and institutions in China. Enhancing academic and research ties is an important strategic objective for the University and we are committed to building upon collaborations developed over the recent years.
- Vice-President, Research Mona Nemer traveled to China in November 2011 and met with several Medical research and educational institute representatives, such as the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) and the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM), to discuss collaborative research opportunities. - Associate Vice-President, Research Ruby Heap also travelled to China in November 2011 and met with representatives from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) to discuss collaboration opportunities in the area of Women’s Reproductive Health. She also participated in the “PhD Workshop China” where she met with exceptionnal Chinese graduate students in order to promote research collaborations between China and uOttawa. - Dr. Ioan Nistor, Vice-Dean Graduate Studies, Faculty of Engineering, and specialist in Hydraulic Engineering, visited the Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute (NHRI) in November 2011. In this occasion, discussions were held regarding further cooperation between the two parties and a collaboration agreement was signed between the University of Ottawa and the NHIR.
