Professor Tom Baker receives Canadian Green Chemistry and Engineering Award

OTTAWA, August 19, 2011 — 

Professor R. Tom Baker of the Department of Chemistry has been awarded the Canadian Green Chemistry and Engineering Award from the Chemical Institute of Canada. The annual award recognizes a Canadian who has made significant contributions to advance green chemistry and/or engineering, with technical, human health and environmental benefits.

Over the span of 30 years as a researcher in the field of homogeneous catalysis, Professor Baker, who is also the director of the Centre for Catalysis Research and Innovation and Canada Research Chair in Catalysis Science for Energy Applications, has made broad contributions in the area of sustainable chemistry.
