Research Chairs in Canadian Francophonie
Three new Research Chairs in Canadian Francophonie have been awarded in 2006. The program aims to solidify the position of the University of Ottawa as a leader in the field of research on Canadian and North-American francophonie.
Joël Beddows, Department of TheatreResearch conducted through this chair by Joël Beddows will focus on francophone plays from Ontario. This includes a comparative study of Franco-Canadian theatres that share similar contexts. Beddows will also study the links between theatre and other art forms.
Michel Bock, Department of HistoryMichel Bock’s research deals with identifying and studying a number of salient 20th century issues in French Ontario and French Canada. Particular attention will be paid to the evolution of collective representations and the deconstruction of the identity of French language minorities.
David Doloreux, School of ManagementThe research by David Doloreux will examine the theoretical and practical relationship between entrepreneurship and the processes of innovation and creativity in manufacturing companies and trade services. In addition, regional roles will be examined within this context.
