Selection criteria
Two internal selection committees (one for social sciences and humanities and one for pure and applied science) study the applications and choose the recipients. Selection criteria include the following:
A – Research project
- Clarity, coherence and pertinence of the research question or working hypothesis, and its objectives
- Compatibility of the research question or working hypothesis with the approaches and methods to be used
- Relevance of the learning activities in regards to the skills/abilities to be developed by these activities
- Feasibility of the planned activities in the context of UROP
- Understanding of UROP objectives
B – Statement of purpose
- Quality of writing and consistency between UROP participation and professional goals
